All foreign and Dominican passengers entering or leaving Dominican Republic on commercial flights must complete the free electronic entry and exit form, which combines the Traveler’s Health Affidavit, Customs Declaration and International Embarkation/Disembarkation forms. The form is available in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese and Russian.

Mexico CUSTOMS TAXATION

 Effective immediately, please be aware of the following guidelines concerning the import of electronic devices for travelers to Mexico.

Each traveler is permitted to bring ONE portable computing device (e.g., laptop, notebook, or iPad) without incurring an import fee.

If passengers bring multiple devices, such as a laptop and an iPad, each will be treated as a separate item, which may result in additional fees!

Allowed Items:

  • 1 laptop or similar portable computing device (e.g., iPad)

Limited Items:

  • Up to 3 cell phones
  • 1 GPS
  • 2 cameras
  • 1 pair of binoculars
  • 4 fishing poles

⚠️ Exceeding these limits may result in customs duties starting at 19% of the item’s estimated value, with some cases reporting fees as high as 200%.

 

Mexico Immigration Entry

 All foreign citizens visiting Mexico must fill out the Immigration Entry Form (FMM) before they arrive in Mexico.  This requirement was waived for Cancun which now grants Americans Fast Track Entry with a stamp rather than a card.

cANcun departure tax

As of April 1, 2021, all international visitors over the age of 15 to the state of Quintana Roo in Mexico (i.e. Cancun, Cozumel, Tulum) must pay a tourism tax.  The permit is issued by the state Mexican authorities and is valid for the whole period of stay in Quintana Roo.
